Creating a homemade salted caramel sauce is a delightful way to enhance cake flavourings, especially chocolate cake!

Ingredients
175g light soft brown sugar
300ml double cream
50g unsalted butter
½ teaspoon flaky sea salt
Instructions
Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan over low heat, combine the light soft brown sugar, double cream, and unsalted butter. Stir until the sugar has fully dissolved, resulting in a smooth mixture.
Simmer the Sauce: Increase the heat to medium and bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Allow it to bubble for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it achieves a golden, syrupy consistency.
Add Salt: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the flaky sea salt, adjusting to your taste preference.
Cool and Serve: Let the caramel sauce cool for about 10 minutes before adding between cake layers.
